My Kumail Nanjiani portrait went over so well that I've decided to start posting these comedian portrait exercises more regularly. I'm getting to know Painter a little better and using these as an excuse to play with different tools and styles. Some are turning out better than others. I'll put the keepers here. Today: Scott Aukerman and Reggie Watts of Comedy Bang Bang!

My brother asked me to put together a sort of "video resume" showcasing his workplace skills and abilities for potential employers. Music used with the generous twitter permission of They Might Be Giants. _This is a quick sketch of John Roderick, whom I had the pleasure of seeing twice this week and shaking hands with tonight. Here's how I first got to know him:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFI6VCTtbq8 His band is called The Long Winters, and you can find them here: http://www.thelongwinters.com/ I learned about him a few ways at once. One was from his guest appearance on Johnathan Coulton's newest album, Artificial Heart, which you can listen to, in its entirety, for free, here: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/store/downloads/ My other introduction to him was as the theme music for my favorite comedy podcast, My Brother, My Brother, and Me. Here's their sampler (If this kind of thing upsets you, you should know that it's crass, but gloriously, fantastically funny): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzagQwQgou4 And, if that sold you, here's their main website: http://www.maximumfun.org/shows/my-brother-my-brother-and-me Should I plug some more stuff? https://www.shamwow.com/ |
