There are a few new things in the Gallery, for those who are interested. One of them is this horrific self-portrait!

I've been doing a lot of free-lancey, unbloggable, non-character stuff lately, and decided I needed to take a break and depict a face for a minute. So here's Ratfist, from the comic of the same name by Doug TenNapel. He came out a little old, but that's okay. Maybe this is from Ratfist: Beyond. Quick, Ratfist! Find a protege with rocket boots! You can find Ratfist 100% free at http://ratfist.com/ You can find TenNapel's other glorious works at http://tennapel.com/comics.html The man can draw a lanky character and spatter black ink like nobody's business. Plus, he's written back to me every last time I've sent him drooly fan emails. Nice fella! I highly recommend giving him some money in exchange for a comic book containing a Kung-Fu Sasquatch, FBI Mantis, or a Space Eel.
Just testing out a system for automatically posting my blog updates to Facebook. But, to keep things interesting, here's a bust of Werner Herzog I made. I'm going to retop him, clean him up, and give him hair and eyes once I'm done with Chestface. He's old news to some of you, but he hasn't made an appearance on this site yet. So here he is! And in cross-eye-3d, too! Click to embiggen!
Here's what I have so far: The ears are really freaking me out. Actually, his whole head is freaking me out. I need a few better solutions, there. And, overall, he's a little too muscular. But I figure I'll go back in and lay some fat over the muscles once I figure out how all the muscles work.
By the way, my new goal I just invented is that at the end of every work session, I will post a update here. That way, I'll be super motivated to do good work and not get distracted during my art time. If I don't make anything good, then THE WHOLE INTERNET WILL SEE WHATEVER I NEGLECTED TO FINISH! THE SHAME! Commentary/critiques are always welcome. Greetings! This post marks the official grand opening of my Art Blog / Sketch Blog / Sktchlog! Soon it will be filled with wonders! And, if this post is any indication, far to many exclamation points! Today's first wonder: A zsketch WIP of my most recent digital sculpting undertaking: CHESTFACE! Click to embiggen. There's a concept painting. And here's a concept sculpt: The key development here is the addition of Rodney Dangerfield's lips. And finally, my zsketch: I decided to go with five fingers and toes in the final version, here, because I think it will make it just that much more upsetting.
